Process
How does Amy work?
Working on a consultative basis, Amy's work normally consists of three broad stages:
Visits on-site to talk to people, tune into the organisational context, key issues and dynamics. Mapping of roles, competencies and familiarisation with existing systems and processes.
Informed by her encounters during the Orientation stage, Amy will develop ideas of ways to help. Interventions for Succession Planning are likely to be more defined while those for Talented Teams, Growing Future Leaders and Innovation and Change Capabilities are likely to involve more original creative input.
The exact nature of follow-through activities and the frequency of contact will depend on the results of the interventions as they unfold.
The above stages are iterative. With the exception of Succession Planning, it is important to note that Amy's style is based on the question 'What is the minimum amount of structure and planning that is needed?' She prefers to 'go with the flow', and to work with people's issues as they present themselves. She strongly encourages a longer-term partnership approach, and will work with a team for as long as is helpful. From experience, typical client engagements last for a period of not less than six months.
