Reflective times

In the depths of reflection and experiencing 'void' for the first time. In Gestalt and Theory U, both refer to a space/ place called 'void'. Up til 2 days ago, I thought I understood it but right now, during C-19 lockdown, I am getting a different understanding of what it is like to be in a void. For me, it was a lack of connection, a nothingness, no stirrings, no-thing. What I noticed was not feeling I needed to do anything as such but just being in it and waiting and accepting how it is.

Then later on that afternoon, I had an unexpected email from Mark, from an email chain to exchange poems that started in March but obviously broke down since I totally forgot about it. The poem he sent was totally spot on. It is by J.R.R. Tolkien:

'All that is gold does not glitter'

All that is gold does not glitter,

Not all those who wander are lost;

The old that is strong does not wither,

Deep roots are not reached by the frost.

From the ashes a fire shall be woken,

A light from the shadows shall spring;

Renewed shall be blade that was broken,

The crownless again shall be king.
